One Year Blogoversary Giveaway!

You guys, it’s been a year since I started blogging!  Okay, okay, it’s actually a little over a year, because it took me a couple weeks to get myself together to plan a giveaway.

Anyway, can you believe it’s been a year?  I know I can’t.  I still can’t believe how much I love blogging, and how that feeling doesn’t seem to be going away, or weakening in any way.  Before I go into the details of the giveaway, I thought it would be fun to share some of the ways that blogging has affected me.

  1. Putting avid readers to shame, everywhere!  Okay, I’ve always been an avid reader.  But since I started blogging I began to read more than I was before.  Partly it is because I am always wanting to make sure I have material for blog posts, but it’s more than that, too.  I’m not wasting away my evenings watching TV or cruising around the Internet.  Okay, I do waste some time that way, but I feel like I am so much more productive now because I spend so much time reading.
  2. Blogging Friends!  You guys, I can’t tell you how wonderful it makes me feel having made blogging friends.  I’m going to get a little personal here.  I had a falling out with my best friend a couple years ago, and it really really, left me feeling insecure.  I was around 27 at the time.  It’s hard to make new friends at that age just because I’m not meeting people all the time like I was in college.  I was really shy at first (and sometimes I still am), but I finally feel a little more confident talking to people in the comments, in other blogs’ comments, and on twitter.  And I feel like I’ve made some friends.  And it feels so freakin’ good.
  3. Something Special!  It feels so good that I’ve worked so hard on my blog.  It’s certainly not fancy in appearance, but it’s my baby, in a way.  It feels good that I’ve been doing this, and working on it, and it isn’t for work.  It’s all mine, and that feels good.  I feel proud of myself.
  4. Reading outside my comfort zone.  You guys, I can be kind of picky about what I read.  But since I started blogging I have been reading some books outside my comfort zone and I ended up loving them.  Cinder is a perfect example.  I really really dislike anything even slightly resembling science fiction so I never really considered reading Cinder even though I love fairytale retellings.  But after repetitively hearing how amazing it was, I decided to give it a try.  And oh my gosh, it’s now one of my favorite books.

Okay, now onto the stuff you guys care about – the giveaway!  🙂

Congrats on celebrating one year! And I’m glad book blogging has been so positive for you. I just started, but I can already agree with the things you mentioned about friends and more reading. 🙂 If I had to choose a book, it’d be… Cinder. I’ve heard a lot about that series but haven’t started it yet. Thanks for the giveaway 🙂

  6. Congrats on reaching one year of blogging! You’ve read some great books in your first year of blogging so I think I’d choose either Paper Valentine or Eleanor & Park 🙂

Thanks for the giveaway and happy reading!

  12. Liesel Hill says:

Congrats on one year! I’m coming up on mine in a few months too. 😀 Thanks for the Giveaway. I think I’d go with The Fault in Our Stars or Cinder. Both are high on my TBR list but I don’t have either. 😀

  13. Lisa says:

I totally get what you mean about how nice it is to have blogging friends. I went through the same thing a few years ago and it basically shredded my relationships with my “IRL” friends, and internet/blogging friends made it way better. Ah, what the internet does for us. (That was so corny. Hahah.)

Also, I would probably choose Eleanor & Park. (Or Pushing the Limits, TFiOS, Cinder, Paper Valentine… I have a hard time choosing.)

  14. ramydul says:

Congrats! I would choose Cinder or The Fault in our Stars.

  15. Dovile says:

Book of Thousand Days seems interesting

  16. Elisa says:

congrats! It’s so hard…probably “Sun and moon, Ice and snow ” 😀

Yay, happy one year of blogging! ❤ I think I'd go for Paper Valentine, because I LOVED that book and want a copy for my shelves. But you also know I adored Also Known As, so … yeah. Hard decision!

  20. Kim says:

Congrats on 1 year! That’s awesome! I agree that one of my favorite things about blogging is the blogger friends I’ve made. It’s very hard to find new friends in your late 20s. I’ve gone through the same thing as some of my past friends and I have gone our separate ways. Here’s to year 2 in blogland! Anyway, I might pick Paper Valentine from this list if I won.

  21. Congrats on blogging for a year, Quinn! I hope you enjoy year two as much – if not more – than year one!
And I’d probably pick Paper Valentine.

  22. Bea Tejano says:

I was going to go with the obvious and say Scarlet but you know what…I hear that Eleanor and Park is AMAZING and it’s a tad out of my comfort zone so I bet that I wouldn’t pick it up if I didn’t win it so let’s go with that one!

  24. Kelly L. says:

  35. caitlore says:

This is definitely a hard choice between The Fault in Our Stars, Wonder, and Also Known As. All three on high on my TBR list! I’d probably go with Wonder though because I’ve heard amazing things about it AND I love me a middle grade read.
