My name’s Quinn, and I am a twenty-something children’s librarian at a public library in Central New York. I absolutely love my job. The best part of my job is getting to work with kids, but being surrounded by books all day doesn’t hurt either. I help children learn to love to read, and, as they get older, help them find books they will enjoy.
I have my B.A. degree from a small Virginia state school. For any Maggie Stiefvater fan’s, I went to the same college as her! I have my MLIS from a SUNY school.
I have two adorable dogs named Ginger (a mix between a Poodle and a Havanese, pictured below) and Daphne (a Bichon Frise, pictured left). They are my babies, and I probably drive everyone I know nuts because I talk about how cute they are nonstop. I’ll try not to do that on my blog.
I love reading children’s, middle grade, and teen books! Unfortunately most of my friends don’t enjoy them as much as I do. I am hoping this blog will help me express my love for teen books, and to meet others who enjoy them as much as I do.

Always great to meet up with a fellow dog lover. I have six, myself.
Wow, six dogs! That must be a lot of work, but so worth it. Dogs are the best animals. I talk about mine all the time. I’m sure I drive my friends nuts.
I love Monk and your dogs look so cute and sweet! If you accept awards, I just awarded you the Liebster Award: http://aliceinreaderland.wordpress.com/2012/10/17/liebster-award/
Love your dogs! Is Ginger named after the main character in “Ginger Jumps”?
Actually, Ginger is named after the spice (or herb or whatever it is – I’m not really knowledgable about food stuff). When I got Ginger I was still living with my parents (I was a college student and home for the summer). My family has always named our pets after food (you can see what we value, huh?) and Ginger had reddish fur. So I named her Ginger.
I’ve since given up on naming my pets after food (although I did have two fish named Chicken and French Fries) and am naming my pets after book or movie/tv people. So my other dog is named Daphne, after Daphne Du Maurier, author of Rebecca. I also had a fish named Sir Percival Blakeney (Sir Percy for short) after The Scarlet Pimpernel.
My parents still name their pets after food, though. They have two dogs named Biscuit and Bean.
Like I said in my bio, I talk about my puppies way too much 🙂
Came on here to get your email address and saw your puppies!!! Sooo cute! My dog is named Ginger too! 🙂
Thanks! Ginger is such a good name for a dog. I would love to see pics of your puppy! 🙂
You and I have far too much in common: Singing in the Rain, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, You’ve Got Mail, The Princess Bride, Beauty and the Beast, Monk, Modern Family, Community… Yay 🙂
Hey, I just want to let you know I’ve nominated you for the Sunshine blog award! You can view your nomination, along with the other nominees, here: http://booksteame.com/2013/05/27/three-awards-oh-my/
Keep up the great work!
Your dogs are adorable!
And I love Pride and Prejudice and The Goose Girl!! They’re brilliant novels 😀
Hi, I’ve nominated you for The Super Sweet Blogging Award at http://yaheart.com/2013/06/20/the-super-sweet-blogging-award/! I hope you accept the nomination, but even if you don’t, please know that I enjoy reading your posts!
I would love to know more of the middle school and young adult biographies you would recommend like Charles and Emma! ~ Sheri
I LOVE The Notorious Benedict Arnold byu Steve Sheinkin. That’s fantastic and the cover is amazing (it would definitely grab kids’ eyes). Not a biography, but a middle-grade/YA nonfiction title that I love is Bomb: The Race to Build – and Steal – the World’s Most Dangerous Weapon by Seve Sheinkin.
This is slightly off-topic, but I just read two children’s biographies that I absolutely loved (and non-fic is *not* my thing). Have you ever read “Mermaid Queen” or “What To Do About Alice”? So good!

Hallo again, Quinn! 🙂
You should really check out the new library love badges that are sprouting up all over my blog!! They’re in the sidebar and under my Bookish Life as well as threaded through my Bout posts!! You should definitely grab some for your blog!! 🙂 🙂 Its wonderful to see someone who works as a Children’s Librarian who is especially keen on books herself! You rock! 🙂 You’ll soon discover that I speak about ‘libraries!’ throughout my blog!! Including showcasing the ‘special’ ones in my blogroll {or that otherwise hefty sidebar! lol}
Pride and Prejudice is definitely my all-time favorite classic book, but the more contemporary books I read, the harder it is to hold onto the classics as my overall favorites. I have to break it down my genre. 🙂
Hi!
I’m not sure if you accept awards, but I nominated you for the Liebster Award. You can see the rules here: http://bftreviews.wordpress.com/2014/03/10/the-liebster-award/

Great blog!
