Review Policy
Thanks for taking the time to look at my review policy.
I am accepting books for review. Although I prefer a physical copy of a book, I can accept e-books formatted for a Kindle. I’m not currently accepting self-published books.
So what can you expect from me?
My reviews are more based on how I actually felt about the book, and very little to do with literary criticism. Please take a look through some of my reviews, so you can get a feel for how I write reviews.
Although I read books from all age groups, I am primarily interested in YA and middle-grade novels for this blog.
My preferred genres are fantasy, paranormal, contemporary, urban fantasy, historical fiction and romance. I really do not care for science fiction or dystopian novels.
You can expect an honest review. That sometimes might mean a negative review. Most of the books I review receive a 3 – 4 star review. Please take a look at my book rating system for more information. I reserve four and five stars for those special books that really found places in my heart.
Although I may accept your book for review, I may not review your book. If I am not connecting with a book, I usually do not finish it. And I do not want to review a book that I have not finished.
I do not accept money for a review.
Although I may not be able to accept your request, please know that I appreciate you thinking of my blog.
If you are interested in sending me a book for review you can email me at quinnsbooknook(at)gmail(dot)com
I love your website! The reviews are awesome, and not lightly given, which I think is great. I’d seriously recommend “On the Jellicoe Road” by Melina Marchetta if you haven’t read it. It’s my favorite, closely followed by Pride and Prejudice. 🙂
