Top Ten Hilarious Book Titles

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish.

toptentuesday

Today, Top Ten Tuesday is a Rewind week, where we get to pick a past Top Ten Tuesday topic.  There are a lot of topics to choose from, but I thought it would be fun to list book titles that crack me up (for whatever reason).  I’m only picking books that I’ve actually read.

In no particular order . . .

Historical Romance Titles
Okay, you guys, I LOVE Historical Romances.  But seriously, the titles are often hilarious.  Here are a few that really tickle my funny bone

1.  The Spindle Cove series by Tessa Dare
With titles like A Night to Surrender, A Week to Be Wicked and A Lady by Midnight, it’s impossible not to crack a smile.  I mean, A Week to Be Wicked!!!  But, on the plus side, these books are AWESOME!  I like that the titles of the books don’t take themselves too seriously.

2.  The Love by the Number series by Sarah MacLean
The titles for this series are SOOOOO Long – Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake, Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord.

seduce me at sunrise

3.  Seduce Me at Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas
I love this book, but “Seduce Me at Sunrise” – ugh!  Words like “seduce” crack me up.  I can’t help it.

Other Than Historical Romances

she went all the way

4.  She Went All the Way by Meg Cabot
I can only think of one thing here . . .

how to flirt

5.  How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf by Molly Harper
This is meant to be a funny title, and it totally succeeds.

bitter sweet

6.  Bitter Sweet Love by Jennifer L. Armentrout
It’s just a little cheesy, don’t you think?

angus thongs

7.  Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison
Another book where the title is meant to be funny.  Not only does the title crack me up, but the book does as well.

ghost and the goth

8.  The Ghost and the Goth by Stacey Kade
It has the word “goth!”  The title is just so cheesy.  So is the cover.  But the book is surprisingly great!

jessicas

9.  Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey
I don’t think I need to say anything but “dating on the dark side.”

id tell you i love you

10.  I’d Tell You I Love You But Then I’d Have to Kill You by Ally Carter
The title is certainly eye catching, and I don’t think you can help by smile when you read it.

So these are the titles that crack me up the most.  Do they make you giggle, too?  What titles do you think are hilarious?

Some of the titles make me giggle just because they are SO cheesy! 😀 Great list!

  2. Dating on the Dark Side made me snort. All I could think about was “Come to the dark side, we have cookies”. I tend to get snarky about titles when they’re funny like that or, “Seduce me at Sunrise.” Thanks for the laugh. 🙂

I’d have to say your second pick is pretty funny…it makes me think of Dr. Seuss with the rhyming. They all made me chuckle a little!

  4. Love the titles 🙂 Had a bit of a snigger myself!

  5. Love your topic choice and I have to agree with some of the titles they really do make you want to laugh and/or smile. Although I’ve only read a few, but some of those Historical Romances looked good. Happy Tuesday!

Fantastic list! I love Nine Rules to Break, but that title is just wayyyy too long. It drives me nuts. I also can’t help but laugh out loud whenever I encounter the Angus, Thongs, etc, book. That is hilarious!

    • Quinn says:

I really liked Nine Rules, too! And I LOVE the Tessa Dare books, But the titles are definitely tickle my funny bone.

I know, I always laugh when I read Angus’s title.

  7. Such a fun topic! I don’t know if I could come up with ten goofy titles. Glad you liked so many of the books, though. 😀

  8. Pretty much all of the Historical Romance titles you listed are pure cheese, but that’s what puts a smile on your face.
    Great list!
    🙂

  9. The Historical Romance books made me giggle a bit – I can’t read the word seduce without cracking up either. And I would totally pick up How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf – weird title has succeeded in catching my attention!

  10. Great pick. I love all your answers and I especially love the historical romance titles, they are hilarious. Nice list 🙂 My TTT.

  11. Candice says:

Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side is actually REALLY cute; I enjoyed it a lot! And you cannot go wrong with the Gallagher Girls series, even though the titles are silly. And don’t get me started on some of those historical romance novels! While I’m sure they’re great, one of the reasons I haven’t read them yet is mostly because of the titles!

    • Quinn says:

I think Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side is cute, too! And I do agree that those historical romance titles are cray-cray, but I do love those books. Especially the Tessa Dare books.

  12. LOL these are all hilarious! I think How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf is the funniest one 🙂

  13. Alison says:

Ha! Those are some great titles. Romance titles always make me chuckle. They can be pretty ridiculous.

  14. Most historical romance titles (and covers) make me laugh though Sarah MacLean’s are always the best. I read the Naked Werewolf series based on the titles alone and they were definitely worth it. Great list idea!

  15. Jamie (Jay) says:

Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging?! This title had me completely crackling up!
