Top Ten Books That Will Make You Swoon

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish.

toptentuesday

This week is all about swoon-worthy books.  That can mean all sorts of things, but I decide to focus on books that feature swoon-worthy guys.  Because, you know, I love a swoon-worthy guy story.  🙂

In no particular order . . .

1. The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
I’m going to be particularly specific here and talk specifically about the audiobook version of The Scorpio Races.  Just listening to Steve West say in his Sean Kendrick voice “Keep your pony off this beach” is worth the listen.  Luckily the whole book is amazing, and I’m pretty much madly in love with West’s Sean Kendrick.

2. The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Okay, so I admit it too me a little bit to warm up to Daemon, but holy cow, I did, I pretty much fell into a dead faint.  Okay, not really, because I am made of sturdy stuff and never pass out.  But seriously Daemon Black – yum.

3.  Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
I’m pretty sure Betty would say “Noah Freaking Hutchins,” and end the conversation.  And I think that’s a perfect justification for Pushing the Limits.

4.  City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
A tough, sarcastic hot guy killing demons – yes please!

5.  Romancing Mr. Bridgerton by Julia Quinn
It’s hard to pick just ONE JQ book, but I have to go with this one.  Colin is such a nice guy, and I think that’s why I love him.  He’s not a rake or anything ridiculous like that.  He’s just a nice guy, who happens to be wealthy and good-looking 🙂

6.  Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
I tried to switch things up a bit, and didn’t list P&P first, but really, this is the ultimate swoon-worthy book.  Mr. Darcy.

7.  The Secret by Julie Garwood
This is my favorite Julie Garwood book.  I love it because I get to see Judith and Iain getting to know each other, and because Iain is so honorable.  Seriously, I thinking honorability is one of the most attractive traits ever.

8.  Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson
It’s sweet, and fun, and full of romance!

9.  Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
It’s more of a quiet swoon, but still totally swoony.  Sometimes it’s the quiet ones that affect you the most.

10.  Crash Into You by Katie McGarry
Okay, so this is sort of part of the Pushing the Limits series, but all the books are companion novels, so I’m including this.  There is just something totally amazing about Isaiah.  I love how loyal he is, and when he helps Rachel out – sign.

About Quinn

I'm a twenty-something children's librarian at a public library in Central New York. I've long left my teen years behind me, but I love to read YA and children's books. I have two adorable dogs. Ginger is a mix between a poodle and havanese, and Daphne is Bichon Frise. Other things I love: Favorite Movie: Singing in the Rain Favorite Book: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Favorite TV Show: Monk

I was going to say I was glad other people found The Scorpio Races swoon worthy but then you continued to say it was just the audiobook. So does that mean you don’t at all think there are moments in this book swoon worthy? haha
I have mixed feelings about The Lux series, but there is no denying that Daemon is incredible haha.
Love love love Pushing the Limits

I was going to have Fangirl on my list but tried to go for books that would be over done if you know what I mean? I’m just a little obsessed with that book haha.
& I have yet to read Crash Into You, might be next for me as I really enjoyed the first two 🙂

    all in all, great list.

  5. Christina says:

Yay! You have Pride and Prejudice on your list as well…Darcy…he’s the ultimate swoon worthy guy! 🙂 I forgot about Pushing the Limits- a fantastic read! I am dying to read Edenbrooke. I need to get my hands on a copy. Great list, Quinn!

  6. Love your list! You know I love Katie McGarry books!! I also swooned big time over Jace and and Daemon Black!!!! I haven’t read Fangirl yet, but I did read Attachments and loved it. I like knowing that I should prepare to swoon a little!

  7. Candice says:

Oh yes! The Scorpio Races!!!! Not an obvious swoon, but very definitely swoony! And Fangirl totally brought on the swoons for me. When Levi insisted on carrying Cath’s laundry? My heart squealed a little bit! And The Secret… loved that one too! I just finished Ransom and had nearly forgotten how much I love that world!

  8. Lucy says:

Those Katie McGarry books really are swoon worthy, aren’t they? And I love that you included The Scorpio Races too!

I’m jotting down your romance recs for future romance. Thanks for sharing your swoony faves 🙂

  9. Ooh, I almost deleted one and replaced with The Scorpio Races. I was just thinking about that book, because I was rounding up quotes about siblings, and Puck has a sweet relationship with her brothers. I LOVE Sean Kendrick. Our literary crush post about him is one of our most popular posts! Agree with Lucy that the Katie McGarry books are all very swoony!

  10. Jackie says:

GAH! Love your list !!! 😀 I have some of the same books on my list too !! I really must read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell – happy reading this week!!

  11. Loved Pushing the Limits and City of Bones. REALLY want to read Crash Into You. Great list! 😀

  12. EDENBROOKE! Do you feel like it’s totally underrated as well? Everyone I know who has read it loves it, but the problem is not enough have read it.

  13. I agree with so many of these! I still need to read Scorpio Races and Edenbrooke, but they are definitely high on my wishlist. Love the comment about Noah Freaking Hutchins…definitely all you have to say about Pushing the Limits! I almost put Romancing Mr. Bridgerton on my list, but went with The Viscount Who Loved Me. Colin is a close second to Anthony for my favorite JQ hero and Penelope is, by far, my favorite heroine. Great list!

  14. BringMyBooks says:

Edenbrooke! That’s been on my TBR shelf for so long, I really need to pick that one up somewhere and read it! Oh, and FanGirl. So much yes. Have you read any other by Rainbow Rowell? Attachments was particularly swoony 😉

Here’s my swoon worthy reads, if you’d like to check them out! 🙂
