Book Haul #37

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly event hosted on Tynga’s Reviews.  The Sunday Post is a weekly event hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  Here we can share what new books we’ve picked up this past week as well as other interesting book news.

I didn’t bring too many books home from the library this week (which is a good thing!!!).  But I still do have two books I’m borrowing.

Library:

pivot point

Pivot Point by Kasie West
I loved The Distance Between Us (my review)but I wasn’t sure if I would like this one by West, even though I’ve heard really good things.  But I decided to be brave and give it a shot.

night circus

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I actually picked this up as an audiobook.  Everyone says this book is really good, so I decided that nows the time to give it a try.  Also – pretty cover!!

Life Tidbits

  • So my mother, and one of my best friends are both in Florida!  And I’m stuck in Syracuse with these ridiculously cold weather.  🙂
  • I have NO plans (see above) this weekend, but I’m really excited about it.  I just want to borrow under the covers and read.  And maybe watch TV.
  • I’ve started to re-watch Veronica Mars (I need to get ready for the movie) because it’s available for Amazon Prime members.  I’m really enjoying it.  Why can’t I have Veronica’s snarky attitude?  Also, I totally forgot what a major jerk Logan was in the first few episodes.  And Duncan is totally not swoon worthy.  He’s got no personality.  I mean, guys can be nice and still have a personality.
  • I know that you’re not supposed to go grocery shopping when you’re hungry, but I totally failed yesterday.  You should see the amount of junk food I brought home.  Actually, no you shouldn’t.  I’m too embarrassed.  🙂

First off, you’re right, THE NIGHT CIRCUS is amazing!
And I totally agree with you about Duncan being super boring and unappealing! I think the moment I really fell in love with Logan was when he broke down crying in Veronica’s arms while searching for his mom. God, I just wanted to kiss him. Is that a weird reaction to have to a crying guy?? haha

I loved Veronica Mars she was like a modern day Nancy Drew with attitude! Though I was disappointed with season three and it’s arch!

  5. I really loved Pivot Point, it’s amazing! I haven’t watched Veronica Mars before but I’ve heard great things, it really needs to be on Netflix!

  11. I never actually saw the Veronica Mars series, except some episodes when they played them on Soapnet on the weekends…but Soapnet is now gone! Alas….

I’ve been DVR-ing Gilmore Girls, which I missed before, too. I know, not the same, but they were both on Soapnet, and now Gilmore Girls is on ABC Family at 11 a.m.

  15. I’ve heard such good things about Pivot Point. I plan on trying it soon. I actually tried The Night Circus audiobook last year and couldn’t get into it. I think the fact that Jim Dale was the narrator threw me off since I’m used to him doing Harry Potter audiobooks. I do hope you enjoy it though!

  16. Great haul! I got Pivot Point for Christmas but still haven’t gotten to read that one, I’m really excited to because I’ve heard so many amazing things. I hope you enjoy your books 🙂 My STS.

  17. Love THE NIGHT CIRCUS! So magical and descriptive. And yay for rewatching Veronica Mars! I finished rewatching the third season a few weeks ago, and I’m excited for the film and Veronica’s snark 🙂
