Friend Me Friday: Bookish Gifts

Friend-Me-Friday

*Friend Me Friday is a new feature I’m starting on my blog.  Every Friday I’m going to share something about myself.  These posts most likely won’t be book related.  The main reason I started blogging was because I wanted to make friends, but sometimes I worry that my personality isn’t shining through my reviews.  I want to share a little bit about myself, so you all can get to know me better.  And, hopefully, I’ll get to know you a little better by the comments I hope you leave*

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since Christmas was just two days ago, I thought it would be fun to share the book-related gifts I received.  Of course Christmas isn’t about the presents, but I still thought it would be fun to share.  My mother really picked out some bookish presents that I love!
First, she gave me this awesome cuff bracelet with the inscription “I still believe in 398.2”  I love this for so many reasons.  First, it’s sort of paying tribute to the fact that I’m not only a librarian, but a children’s librarian.  398.2 is the dewey decimal call number for fairytales.  How awesome is this?
I also got this totally amazing iPhone case that’s The Little Prince themed.  The Little Prince is one of my favorite books.  What I espeically love about this is that it isn’t overtly all about The Little Prince.  You won’t find the book title anywhere on this case.  But if you are familiar with the book, you’ll immediately recognize the illustration.  LOVE IT.
Mom also gave me this cute little notebook with the Deathly Hallows symbol stitched into the cover.  Again, I love this because it isn’t overtly Harry Potter, but Harry Potter fans would easily recognize that symbol.  Also, yay notebooks!
And, finally, mom got my this amazing keychain that is not only a reference to my favorite book (Pride and Prejudice) bu also a reference to one of my new favorite TV shows (and something I’ve been obsessing over for the last month or so) – Doctor Who.  It says:  “it’s a truth universally acknowledged that a madman in possession of a blue box must be in want of a companion.”  Coolest thing ever, right?
I think mom found all these on Etsy, but I don’t know the store names.  Did you guys recieve any fun book-related presents for the holidays?
      Haha! Yes, it’s sort of a hat. Which is why he had to draw the snake from the inside.
      I’m a total whovian! But I haven’t seen the Christmas Special yet. It’s killing me. It’s going to be on iTunes on Jan 2, and I can’t wait. Did you like it?
  2. They are all lovely, I especially love the quote on your Doctor Who key chain. I love Doctor Who and Pride and Prejudice, it is very cool :0)
  3. Merry Christmas. Congratulations for the gifts. I had no idea about the number 398.2. Your blog has added one more colourful thought to my Christmas memories: http://sanchitahobby.wordpress.com/2013/12/23/an-event-to-remember/
    I like the bracelet!
  5. Those are such cool gifts! I didn’t get any bookish gifts this year, which is alright since I know my parents don’t really shop on the internet too much. I did get a NaNoWriMo winner shirt for this year though which I’m super happy about since I can wear it while I do editing and revisions in January.
  6. Lucy says:
    The bracelet from your mom is my favorite! She is a champion gift giver 🙂 Thanks for sharing your bookish haul with us.
  7. Elizabeth says:
    I love ALL of these! I see a lot of bookish things and am like, oh that’s really cute (but would never use). I would use every single one of these. Your mom is awesome!
  8. Katie says:
