Book Haul #32

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly event hosted on Tynga’s Reviews.  The Sunday Post is a weekly event hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  Here we can share what new books we’ve picked up this past week as well as other interesting book news.

I actually didn’t buy or borrow any books this week, which is really a good thing.  I already have a ZILLION books around the house.  So I thought I would share some of the e-galleys I’ve been approved for over the last month or so.

From Netgalley:

going rogue

Going Rogue by Robin Benway
I read this one last week, and it was totally adorable.  My review will be up soon.

From Edelweiss:

romancing

Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare
I’ve heard great things about Tessa Dare, and this book looks super cute.  I can’t wait to give it a try.

sound

The Sound by Sarah Alderson

That’s it.  I’m really trying to NOT request too many books.  It’s so easy, sometimes, though.  🙂

Life Tidbits

  • So, for those that celebrate Christmas, are you ready?  Do you have all your shopping and wrapping done?  I’m pretty good in the shopping area, and I’ve done some wrapping, but I need to do more.
  • I’m still hunting for a new TV show to watch, now that I finished Doctor Who (I’m totally going through Doctor withdrawal!).  I’m trying out Torchwood and The X-Files.  I’m liking both, but not in the same way that I love Doctor Who.
  • I try not to get grumpy that I don’t get any time off around Christmas, but I always end up resenting everyone else at the library that takes time.  Since I’m the newest librarian (although I’ve been there for nearly 6 years) I have no seniority.  But what annoys me, is that when I finally get seniority I won’t hog it like they do at my library. Yeah, obviously I’m not succeeding in the no grumpiness area.  🙂
  • I received the sweetest Christmas gift from Alisa in the mail this week!  It was a SIGNED copy of Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and a Pride & Prejudice ornament.  I love them.  Alisa is the best!

About Quinn

I'm a twenty-something children's librarian at a public library in Central New York. I've long left my teen years behind me, but I love to read YA and children's books. I have two adorable dogs. Ginger is a mix between a poodle and havanese, and Daphne is Bichon Frise. Other things I love: Favorite Movie: Singing in the Rain Favorite Book: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Favorite TV Show: Monk
