Summary from Amazon:

For Mary Sullivan Christmas is, and always has been, about family. And this year is no different. As she awaits the arrival of her eight children and their partners at the cottage in Lake Tahoe, she hangs the ornaments that they made for her over the years. Each decoration brings with it a tide of memories, all of which she holds dear to her heart. But when she comes across the oldest ornament, the one her beloved husband, Jack, gave her on their very first Christmas together, Mary is immediately swept back to the first days of their whirlwind romance, to the love that would be the foundation on which they built the family she is so proud to call her own.

Join the Sullivans this Christmas for a story that explores the wonder of the holidays, the meaning of family and a love that transcends time.

My Thoughts

*so, I’m starting a new type of review on my blog called Express Lane Review.  The idea is that these types of reviews are quick (think express lanes in grocery stores), and each review will have 7 (or less) points.  Let me know if you like them, or if you have any advice.  I’ll still be doing my regular reviews, as well.  I just wanted to have some variety in my review structures*

Point One:  Kissing Under the Mistletoe was a great introduction to Bella Andre, an author I’ve been meaning to read for awhile now.

Point Two:  Mary was very easy to like.  She’s really down-to-earth, despite being a world-famous model.  As much as I do like Mary, I really wanted to just shake her and tell her to pick up the damn phone.

Point Three:  Jack was definitely my kind of hero.  He’s smart, thoughtful, a hard worker, and very honorable.  I love an honorable guy.

Point Four: As much as I liked Jack and Mary, I don’t find them particularly memorable.

Point Five:  One of my favorite things about this book is that it isn’t filled with lots of drama.  Obviously there is some conflict, but it isn’t over the top.

Point Six:  I did find the book to be a little long.  As I was reading it, I would often check how much left I had to read, and I always felt like whatever was left felt like too much.  Of course, I was reading thing while recovering from a stomach bug, so that could have been part of the problem.

Point Seven:  I will definitely be looking into Bella Andre’s Sullivan series in the near future.

  1. I have been wanting to try an Andre romance too. I’m not sure if I’ll start with this one, but I’m intrigued by your thoughts on it. Nice review!

Go ahead, make my day! No really, comments make my day! Let me know what you think.
