Top Five Sequels I Can’t Wait to Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish.

toptentuesday
If you’ve been following my posts for awhile now, you probably know that I kind of fail at series.  I’m not sure what it is, but I lose interest pretty quickly with series.  I’m much better with the companion novels – they’re just more my style.  However, I do have a few books in a series that I cannot wait to get my hands on.  For this week’s topic I’m focusing on books that haven’t been released yet.

In no particular order . . .

cress

1.  Cress by Marissa Meyer
This is probably the book I am most looking forward to at this time.  It’s the third book in the amazing Lunar Chronicles and it’s actually kind of a mixture between a regular series book, and a companion novel.

heavenly fire
2.  City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
This is the conclusion to the Mortal Instruments series.  I still haven’t read City of Lost Souls (book five) yet, but I’m waiting until Heavenly Fire is released before I read Lost Souls.  The cover has yet to be released.

3.  The Hero’s Guide to Being an Outlaw by Christopher Healy
If you guys haven’t read the Princes Charming series you are MISSING OUT!  This is one of the funniest series ever, and the character development is amazing.  The cover for this one hasn’t been released yet.

isla
4.  Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins
This is definitely a companion novel and not really a sequel, but I don’t care, I’m still counting it.  Because I can 🙂  Anyway, Stephanie Perkins is just awesome, and I can’t wait to read Isla.

5.  Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout
It’s the final book in the Lux series, and I NEED to know how it’s going to end.  Plus, Daemon Black is super fun to read about.  The cover hasn’t been released yet for this one, either.

And that’s all I’ve got.  Like I said, I’m pretty much a failure at series.

But what about you?  Are you a series person?  What sequels are you dying to get your hands on?

I’m a bit of a failure with series too. I’m looking forward to Cress too though.

  2. Camille says:

I have #2 and #5 on my list.. i’ve been meaning to read marissa meyer, maybe next early next year hehe 🙂 here’s my Top Ten Tuesday

  3. Lucy says:

Haha I also fail at series. I counted Isla as well, can’t wait. Cress has such a gorgeous cover!

Even though I haven’t read any other books in the series I really want to read Cress! It sounds so good! And I only have five books on my list as well. The waiting between books is too long and I lose interest in the series overall.

  5. I get what you mean. Series are kind of hard to stick with. My list only has four… Cress was one of them though! Can’t wait for it!

  6. I picked Cress as well, and even though I dislike Clare, I cannot wait for her last book in TMI series as well.
    Happy reading!

  7. Cress ❤ and I definitely need to get started in Prince Charming series!

  8. I can’t. I just cannot handle my need for Isla and the Happily Ever After.

Also, I kind of fail at series too. I mean, not so much with continuing series, but apparently I didn’t really start any series this past year? Like I unintentionally passed over all first books in a series…whoops!

I have The City of Heavenly Fire on my list as well, i also think i need to check out this Lux series as i keep hearing so much about it and the author!

I’m waiting to read The Mortal Instruments until they are all out! I can’t even begin to start a new series right now–let alone one I have to wait for :0

  11. Liesel Hill says:

I’ve seen Cress on several lists, though I have yet to begin that series. Guess I need to get my butt in gear, eh? TMI almost made my list, though I haven’t actually finished books 4 and 5 yet. Still, I’m sure I’ll have them read by the time 6 comes out next year. Great list!

  12. I completely forgot about Opposition! What is wrong with me? I loved the first Hero’s Guide book so I’m excited to see the author is doing more. I counted Isla as a sequel on my list too! Thanks for sharing.

  13. Cinder and Scarlet are currently sitting on my shelf, waiting to be read. Very excited for this series as I’ve heard such amazing things about it. My TTT.

  14. So, Cress and Isla both made my list today, but I can’t believe that I forgot Heavenly Fire! I can’t wait for them all! I’m a huge fan of series though so I’m always playing the waiting game.

  15. Opposition, man oh man do I want to read that book already! LOVVEEE your list.

  16. I haven’t read City of Lost Souls yet either, but I’m really excited to see how the last book ends! Great list 🙂

  17. Love your list and the overlaps we have, and like I said, I need to read the Meyer books too! I’m intrigued by the Healy books. Obviously you make them sound good.

  18. Jessica says:

I reallllly hope City of Heavenly Fire is good. I was fairly disappointed with everything after book 3 so I’m hoping this last one can redeem the series for me.

Go ahead, make my day! No really, comments make my day! Let me know what you think.
