Monthly Favorites: September 2013

So,way back when (about a year ago) I used to do these Monthly Favorites posts, inspired by all the makeup videos I see on Youtube each month.  But I discontinued them, because I thought they were kind of boring.  However, I’ve come across some other book blogs to do something similar, but they include other favorites.  So I’m revamping my Monthly Favorites!

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
Seriously, there isn’t much out there that’s better than this book.

Obsession of the Month

Daria: The Compete Series.
It’s been so much fun rewatching this show.  It brought me back to my high school days. Above is the fun video about Daria attending her High School Reunion staring Aubrey Plaza.

The Good . . .

  • Discovering Elementary.  I’m obsessed, and watching nearly the whole first season in a matter of days.
  • Celebratory Date Night with my Best Friend.  We went out to celebrate her getting a promotion.
  • Gorgeous Autumn Weather.  It’s actually been a bit warmer than it normally is this time of year, but man has it made for some amazing weather.
  • Hot green tea with Honey.  Now that it’s Autumn, I’ve started drinking hot tea again.  There’s something so relaxing about drinking a cup of tea.
  • Getting new glasses.  They’re hipster-ish!

Hipster glasses

The Bad . . .

  • Working Sunday, September 15th for the big booksale at my library.  It’s not terrible, but it’s so exhausting.
  • Having a few blemishes right near my mouth.  It’s hard to hide those.

And the Ugly.

Thumb Injury

How cute does Ginger look in the background?

  • How did I close out September?  By cutting my thumb pretty severely with a pair of scissors.  It’s not the end of the world, and I’m fine, but there’s a little crater on the pad of my thumb now.  I even contemplated going to the doctor to see if I needed stitches.  My dad said there was nothing to stitch up.  Gross, right?

What’s Next for October?

  • Emma Approved!  It’s starts October 7th, and it cannot get here soon enough.
  • Reading my ARC of Crash Into You by Katie McGarry.  Isaiah’s story!
  • Leaves changing colors.  I live in one of the most beautiful places to experience the awesomeness of Autumn.
  • My short vacation to the Poconos in mid-October.
  • Seeing Maggie Stiefvater at the end of the month in Rhinebeck, NY.
  • My Grandmother’s 92 birthday!

How was your month?  What went well?  And what sucked?

Ginger is a mix between a poodle and havanese, and Daphne is Bichon Frise. Other things I love: Favorite Movie: Singing in the Rain Favorite Book: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Favorite TV Show: Monk
