Q: Books are turned into movies all the time! Turn it around. What movie would make a great book?

I love this question!  I actually posted back in June about the movie Snow White and the Huntsman.  The movie was so-s0, but I thought that if it were a book (and written well, of course) it would be amazing.  I thought the movie was lacking in character development, and a book would be a great way for people to learn (and care) about Snow White.  I know there is some Snow White and the Huntsman book out there (I’ve seen it at Barnes & Noble), but I mean, if it were a book before a movie.  Does that make sense?

Speaking of books and movies, have you guys seen the trailer of City of Bones?  Oh my gosh, it looks amazing!  Why is August so far away?  And, seriously, I think Jamie Campbell Bower is going to kill it as Jace.  What did you think of it?

I’d read it! But I am a Chris Hemsworth Fangirl, so if he’s on the cover, I’d buy it anyway!

Seriously, Chris Hemsworth! Gorgeous! I can’t see how Snow White could be torn between the huntsman, and that other childhood noble guy. Huntsman allllllll the way! As long as it is Chris Hemsworth.

Ooh, yes! This would make an excellent book – if it’s well written obviously. I just didn’t like the movie. I feel they sacrificed character development for CGI and special effects. As a lot of movies do I guess. And yes… City of Bones is going to rock. All my doubts of JCB pulling off Jace are totally gone.

    • Quinn says:

I completely agree that SWATH sacrificed character development for CGI stuff. While I was watching the movie, I was thinking of what I wish happened in the movie.

Ridiculously excited about City of Bones. Doubts of JCB gone! I love that we see a little of his snark in the trailer.

I agree the movie was so-so. I actually thought it was quite boring and hated how snow white went from damsel in distress to warrior with no training. Stuff like that bugs me. Old follower : )

  8. Great choice!
I have seen the movie in the cinema and I really liked it. But, I think the reason why I liked it so much was because of the awesome action scenes and the music! 😉

I haven’t seen that one yet, but I heard it was well done. I’m a new follower on Twitter. Please consider following me.

I was disappointed with the movie too. It sounded like it had a lot of potential, but then it fell very flat. I loved Chris Hemsworth in it though, Isn’t he just sexy as hell?! If there were a book of this story and it was written well, I would definitely read it!

I wanted to see this when it came out in theaters but I might rent it. There are a few good actors in it, so I’ll give it a try. It would be an interesting read though 🙂
