Feature & Follow Friday is hosted by both Alison Can Read & Parakunkee’s View. The point of Feature & Follow Friday is to gain blog followers for book bloggers. You can find more info about this meme here.
Q: What do you hope to accomplish with your blog? Is it to one day become an author yourself, just for fun, maybe get some online attention, or maybe something very different?
Oh my gosh, I love this question, although I don’t think it is an easy one to answer. I know why I started this blog (as a way to express my feelings about books that most of my friends don’t read), but what I hope to accomplish is certainly different. I think what I want to accomplish the most is to make friends with people who love the same kind of books I do. Well, maybe not the exact same books as me (because it is great to have differences), but to make friends with people who love to read as much as I do.
I know a lot of bloggers also write, and maybe hope to be an author someday, but I am not one of them. I love my job as a children’s librarian. It certainly isn’t perfect (what job is?) but it satisfies me more than any other occupation could. But, although I have no desire to be an author, that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the amazingness that authors create! Although reading is solitary, in a way, it let’s me connect to people like nothing else could. And I’m hopping this blog helps me connect to other people.
Also, I wouldn’t mind it if lots of people liked me blog. 🙂 I put a lot of time and effort into it, and it is nice to feel appreciated, right?

Great answer! Children’s librarian sounds like a fun job! 😀 Old follower. My FFs are at Musings on Fantasia and LKHill. Happy Friday!:D
Hopping through. Oh my gosh…children’s librarian. I so want to do that.
My Hop
It’s so amazing you are a librarian. Are you in charge of young adult books as well as children? 🙂

Thanks. Being a librarian is pretty awesome. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t a perfect profession. If you knew some of the crazy people I have to talk to. In fact, today someone called the library asking for thong catalogs. Yep! They thought the library was the place to find underwear catalogs. lol.
No I am not the YA librarian. The adult services librarian also takes care of the YA stuff (book ordering, programs, etc). But I do talk to the teens a lot, and I am the one who usually recommends books to the teens. It’s probably a good thing I don’t order the YA books, because I would want to order everything, and there is a limited budget. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!

I honestly didn’t expect to make as many connections as I have blogging. It was an unexpected and totally awesome side effect 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my FF!
Same here! I love making friends with people who have the same passion for books. Sadly my face to face friends aren’t book lovers. 😛 Thanks for stopping by my blog! 😀
I love the name Daphne! Don’t take this the wrong way, but I named one of my dogs Daphne. It is such a pretty name.
I do have friends who love reading, but they don’t really read the same books I read.
I always wanted to be a librarian, never followed my dream. I honestly didn’t think anything would come out of my book blogging.
Thanks for stopping by.
I love being a librarian. It is a pretty awesome job. Certainly there are things that frustrate me, but I can’t imagine another occupation that would fit me as well.
Being a children’s librarian would be a dream job. Almost as much fun as writing. 😀 Love this connection feature. Following via Twitter.

Getting to meet others who love reading as much as I do is definitely the best thing about blogging. I also love discovering new books; I’ll never get to the end of my TBR pile!
Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I completely agree with you about reading being a solitary activity that allows you to connect with soo many people in truly amazing ways!
It’s always so nice to meet another blogging librarian! 🙂 New follower here. My FF: http://moonlit-librarian.blogspot.com/2012/10/feature-and-follow-friday-oct-5.html
