Top Ten Bookish People I Want to Meet

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish.  This week The Broke and the Bookish are asking us to list our top ten bookish people (authors, bloggers, etc), that we would like to meet.  I am pretty much going to stick to authors here because I don’t want any bloggers to get freaked out and think I am stalking them.  🙂  So here’s my list:

1.  J.K. Rowling.  Seriously, I can’t imagine her not being on everyone’s list.  To meet her would be amazing!!
2.  Philip Pullman.  Okay, I am kind of scared of how intelligent he seems, but I would love to talk to him about His Dark Materials.
3.  John & Hank Green.  These guys are so funny!  I absolutely love their videos on their YouTube channel, vlogbrothers.  Plus, they are totally smart.  Hank Green hasn’t written any books, but he is a total bookish person!

4.  Jane Austen.  Yes, I know she has passed on.  But nowhere does it say I have to choese only people who are still alive.  I would just talk to her about Mr. Darcy.  Who wouldn’t?  🙂
5.  Jennifer L. Armentrout.  Maybe she would bring an ARC of Opal?  But that is not really why I would want to meet her.  I would love to hear about how she came up with the idea of the Luxen, and how to created such an amazing character (I’m totally talking about Daemon!!)
6.  Meg Cabot.  Do I even need to explain why?

7.  Marni Bates.  You guys she is really young – around 22 I think, and she already has 1 novel published, 1 coming out next week, and her autio-biography published.  I think she is hilarious, too!
8.  Cassandra Clare.  Because it is Cassandra Clare!!!
9.  Maggie Stiefvater.  Because we went to the same college (although I never knew or met her).  Plus she is a good writer, and she is really funny on her blog.
10.  Rick Riordan.  I think his Percy Jackson & the Olympians series is fantastic!  Especially for reluctant readers.  I think he would be a fun person to talk to.

It’s the last day to enter my very first giveaway of an gift card!

I’d love to meet most of the people on your list especially Jen Armentrout. I hope that Pepe (the Daemon Model) is there 😀 I’d love to talk about the Lux and Covenant series!

I totally put Jane Austen on my list too! I’m waiting for the day that time travel is available, and she’s the first person I’m going to chat with!

    Great list!

  7. Candice says:

Marni Bates is so cute! I can’t wait to read her newest book. I think I would be super intimidated to meet some of these, especially Phillip Pullman and JK Rowling! Rick Riordan is actually coming to a city close to me, but I won’t be able to go. Probably just as well because I’d totally fangirl over Percy Jackson! 🙂

  8. Vyki says:

I am hoping to meet Cassandra Clare in November at the YALL fest in Charleston, SC. It will be my first author event! Here’s my Top Ten Tuesday!

  12. Great list! I also resurrected the dead for my list so don’t worry about it. lol We had a few in common. I haven’t heard of Marni Bates. I’ll have to check her out.

  13. Ah, the Green Brothers! Why didn’t I think of that? I subscribe to their channel and everything! Great list, love the inclusion of Jane Austen. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

I was actually kind of shocked when I came across people’s lists that DIDN’T have JK Rowling. She’s practically defined an entire generation +. Jane Austen is another great one – I love that you thought beyond just modern day authors!

  15. Meeting Rick Riordan would be awesome! Hubby, brother, and son would kill me if I didn’t bring them along though…LOL.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer, she’s so sweet.
I get to meet Cassandra at YALLfest this year, should be exciting!! 😀

  16. KateB says:

Jane Austen – oh my. I’d turn crazy fan girl on her. It’s probably for the best that she wasn’t on my list 😛 I would want to know everything about Captain Wentworth from Persuasion… *sigh*

I really liked your choices 🙂

Go ahead, make my day! No really, comments make my day! Let me know what you think.
