Brittany from The Book Addict’s Guide has started a new weekly feature called The Deja Vu Review, where we can give mini reviews of books we’ve read before we started blogging (or books we never wrote reviews for). I think this is a great idea, and although it means I’m participating in five memes a week (I know that is crazy! But I will still post at least two book reviews a week) I wanted to support Brittany. Plus, it is fun!
Marley and Me: Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog by John Grogan
Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
Mini-Review: This was really popular a few years ago, and I am guessing many of you have read this. I will admit that I was very hesitant to read it. I mean, it is a book about a dog. And you know books with dogs in then . . . well, it usually doesn’t end well for the dog.* Being a huge dog lover, and momma to two sweetie pie dogs myself, I just wasn’t sure I could handle this book. But I am so glad that I decided to read this. It is amazing to see how this one crazy animal affected the lives of the Grogan family. Of course it was hilarious at times with all the issues Marley caused, but it was also so sweet, and sad as well. If, for some reason, you haven’t read this, I highly recommend it. I wasn’t all that thrilled with the movie. The movie was missing that something special that the book has.
*Actually there is a YA book called No More Dead Dogs about a teenager who says he is sick of reading books where the dog dies. So he refuses to read anymore. I totally get where he is coming from! Maybe I will review that one for next week.

I haven’t read this book, only saw the movie (before I knew it was a book) but I really enjoyed it!
I’m actually really interested in No More Dead Dogs! It sounds cute and I totally get where he’s coming from!
No More Dead Dogs sounds like a fun book! (And yes, I completely agree with the lead on that: Can we please stop having dog books where the dog dies?)
